Rolling Artworks

In 2017, the Tyrolean haulier Silo Melmer celebrated its 70th company anniversary with this airbrush picture on one of its silo vehicles. It shows historic wagons from the company’s history as well as the heads of the managing directors Rupert and Simon Melmer. As early as the end of the 1990s, father and son began to use airbrush technology to make part of their fleet stand out, turning trucks into eye-catching advertising vehicles. The Viennese airbrush artist Knud Tiroch applies the desired design in three to five days, then it is painted with clear lacquer and sanded. The entrepreneurs explain that this is a complex process, but it is worth it: The vehicles attract attention everywhere. They are regularly thoroughly polished and therefore always look very well maintained. So the rolling artworks are in use throughout Europe for up to 15 years.
