Playground for oldtimer friends

In Germendorf in Brandenburg, Germany, historical commercial vehicles come alive once a year: At the “historical construction site” their owners can then test them in real operation in the sand of a landfill. The “Captains of the Land Road” invite to the event, which has been organised by the regional haulier Burkhard Fromm for 15 years. Also in 2019 everything went well in front of about 500 guests, as he reports: “The weather was good, everybody had fun”. The idea for the “historical construction site” came about because oldtimer friends of commercial vehicles like Fromm wanted to try out the elaborately restored vehicles. He found a sand and gravel pit suitable for it and created a paradise for old trucks, excavators, Unimogs and wheel loaders.
