Heavy haulage in the scorching desert sun

The ultimate in heavy haulage: heavy transport specialist Mammoet has moved 1,048 tons of heavy freight to a desert region using a special vehicle – the SCHEUERLE-KAMAG K25. The modular platform trailer is equipped with 32 swing axles from BPW and is used around the world to transport extraordinary loads. The many tons of load were transported through the scorching desert sun on two hydraulic trailers and ten semi-trailer trucks. The heavy-duty truck caravan completed the journey of 1,080 kilometres in just over five weeks. Thanks to fuel and water tankers, mobile accommodation and a garage, the 18-person team was able to complete everything on schedule and be fully self-sufficient on the route, which took them through some undeveloped areas.
